MTH is an acronym for Mike’s Train House. It is an American based company in Maryland and was founded by Mike Wolf in the 1970’s. He was often involve in assembling toy trains in his parents home and this passion for trains move him to be very successful in the business.

By 1980 he started the mail to order business selling Williams Electric Trains. Soon the business grew and they become sub contractor for Lionel Company but unfortunately they don’t disagree on something and the relationship ended by 1993. MTH continue to reproduce and by late 1990’s they become much larger and popular than Lionel. Their sales volume is higher and they provide lots of jobs to people.

To date, MTH has the largest product range of any model train worldwide. It offers full product line from HO Scale, O scale and Lionel Corporation Tinplate. And their research and development never stops to discover and introduce new ideas.
