Micro-Trains Line Z Scale Model Trains

The founders of Micro-Trains, twin brothers Keith and Dale Edwards, started making model trains in 1940. They named their company “Kadee.” At late 1940s, they invented and got exclusive rights to Magne-Matic Coupler, which was the newest model of railroading at that time. It was more realistic and had an advanced coupler system. This system was of the HO scale, and became their standard.

In the 1960s, they manufactured the Magne-Matic coupler system that operates at the N scale, which is newer and smaller. Eventually, they released wheels, trucks, and under frames to add to their growing variety of products.

In 1972, they brought about a revolution and released a freight car that operated at the N scale line. It was also during this time that Micro-Trains Line was founded, and it soon specialized in the manufacturing of N scale model trains, Magne-Matic couplers, and accessories. Moreover, they added cars and couplers in the Nn3 scale and Z scale.

Come 1990, the Kadee Company was separated into two independent corporations, and one of which was Micro-Trains Line Co. Inc., which held the rights to manufacture products in the N, Nn3, and Z scales.

In that same decade, the demand for N scale model railroading increased, as people gained more interest and fun in using it. This phenomenon was also thanks to the efforts of Micro-Trains.

In the market today, Micro-Trains remain as the only manufacturer that has 80 different styles of mode train freight cars that operate on any scale. Both the company’s precise features and consistent micro- fine printing and lettering contribute to its unwavering excellence in the industry. Enthusiasts are surely hats off to each product’s fit, finish, and detail. Micro-Trains sell these cars individually, as a pack, or as a complete set.

The company’s specialty extends to providing “Special Run” releases, which caters to the customized requirements of different clubs, organizations, and businesses. There is also the “Special Editions” line, which features popular and conjured styles that would not normally appear on the rails.

Truly, Micro-Trains should be your go- to company, whether you are a model train operator, a dedicated collector, or just someone who gets a kick out of these things.
